Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Store Manager to oversee inventory control, material issuance, and procurement processes within our jewellery manufacturing unit. The role requires strong coordination with production teams, efficient stock management, and strict control over material usage to minimize losses and ensure smooth operations.


Key Responsibilities

1. Stock Monitoring & Replenishment

  • Track real-time inventory of raw materials and consumables.
  • Maintain and monitor minimum stock levels (“Par Levels”) to avoid stockouts.
  • Analyze historical consumption and production data to forecast material requirements.
  • Plan inventory for seasonal demand and production peaks.

2. Issuance & Production Coordination

  • Manage controlled issuance of materials to departments such as Casting, Setting, and Polishing.
  • Coordinate with Production Managers to ensure uninterrupted workflow.
  • Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) consumables and identify supply bottlenecks.

3. Loss Control & Quality Assurance

  • Implement and monitor scrap control and metal-loss tracking systems.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and periodic stock audits for accuracy.
  • Ensure all incoming materials meet quality and technical specifications.

4. Vendor & Procurement Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers for production materials.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery timelines.
  • Maintain and track supplier performance using a Supplier Quality Index (SQI).

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Basic understanding of jewellery manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Strong inventory management and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Gati) and advanced MS Excel.
  • Ability to forecast demand and optimize stock levels.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Preferred Profile

    • Experience in the gems and jewellery manufacturing industry.
    • Familiarity with handling precious metals and high-value inventory.
    • Strong coordination and communication skills for cross-functional teamwork.
